The Texas Department of State Health Services is a state agency of Texas which is responsible to look after the health facilities and well being of the citizens of Texas. Texas Medical Aid or Health Insurance

The Texas Department of health services is the overall authority to look after the medical aid or health insurances in the state of Texas. Many services and programs are provided by the department for the citizens to get best and quality services. These services are given to citizens based on the eligibility criteria, children, senior citizens, low income pregnant women and disables.

Medical aid: Texas Medicaid provides free or low-cost health coverage to the people, including some low-income people, pregnant women, families and children, people with disabilities and the the elderly [2]. These programs are run jointly by federal and state governments. One qualifies for the programs based on his income, age, household size and disability.

County Indigent Health Care Program: The County Indigent Heath Care Program [3] offers health care services to qualified residents through the hospital districts, counties and public hospitals in Texas. Hospital districts and public hospitals must follow an application filing process and provide health care to qualified residents who live in the hospital district's or public hospital's service area and also fulfill the minimum resource and income limits.

Health Statistics and Index of Texas

The Texas Department of State Health Services collects, protects and provides access to vital records and  improves the health and well-being in Texas [4] . Services Provided by the Vital Statistics Unit are:

Birth: Applicants verifying births will receive a letter stating whether a record of birth is on file with the  
State of Texas. After filling a record, the verification letter will include the name of the person, the date and county of the event occurred. Verification letters could be obtained for births or deaths that has taken place since 1903.

Death: Applicants verifying deaths will receive a letter stating whether a record of death is on file with the  
State of Texas. After filling a record, the verification letter will include the name of the person, the date and county of the event. Verification letters could be obtained for deaths that has taken place since 1903.

Marriage: For marriage licenses verification letters are not considered legal substitutes. The county clerk (marriage) makes available the certified copies of marriage licenses. Verification letters of marriage could be obtained for marriages occurring from 1966 till present time.
    
Divorce: For divorce decree verification letters are not considered legal substitutes. District clerk (divorce) makes available certified copies of divorce decrees and the verification letters could be obtained for divorces occurring from 1968 to the present time.
